Scarlett Johansson reveals future of her ‘Black Widow’ role

Scarlett Johansson, known for portraying Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, revealed what the future holds for her character.

“Natasha is dead,” the Lucy actress said, despite leading a prequel, 2021’s Black Widow. “She is dead. She’s dead. Okay?”

However, she said that devoted fans of Marvel “just don’t believe it.”

“They’re like, ‘But she could come back!’ Look, I think the balance of the entire universe is held in her hand. We’re going to have to let it go. She saved the world. Let her have her hero moment,” the Oscar nominated actress explained.

Meanwhile, MCU dropped Anthony Mackie’s Captain America: Brave New World in February. The studio is now gearing up for Thunderbolts* (in theatres May 2), The Fantastic Four: First Steps (in theatres July 25).
