Jennifer Aniston reveals how hypnosis helped her conquer her lifelong fear

Aniston previously detailed a horrifying flight experience with her friend Courteney Cox

Jennifer Aniston has turned to an unconventional method to deal with her lifelong fear of flying.

In a new interview with Travel + Leisure published April 17, the Friends star got candid about her “extreme fear of flying” and how she’s finally finding relief through hypnosis.

“I have been doing some hypnosis lately, and one of the requirements is to remove all of those superstitions,” she shared. “I have not been doing the right hand, right foot — and now it’s shockingly good!”

Aniston, 56, previously relied on rituals like tapping the outside of the plane with her right hand and stepping on board with her right foot. But she says those habits are now behind her.

Instead, she turns to calming meditations once the plane takes off.

Alongside her work on flying fears, Aniston also admitted she’s trying to become a better packer. “You just don’t know where you’re going to be on a certain day, or what mood you’re going to be in,” she reasoned.

Back in 2019, Aniston’s fear of flying was put to the test when a plane she and Courteney Cox were on lost a wheel during takeoff. The group landed safely, but the trauma clearly stuck.
